Pat Malone pitched from 1928 to 1937 for the Cubs and the Yankees. He won 134 games, led the league in wins in 1929 and 1930. Malone was a 1929 Cub and a 1936 and 1937 Yankee. Malone died in 1943 at only age 40, this might be the only single signed baseball in the hobby! Jimmy Spence of JSA noted to me that this is the first Pat Malone that he had ever seen when authenticating the baseball. This came from a unique collection of baseballs in the Altoona, Pennsylvania area. Completely fresh to the hobby, this has a fine full name signature and is dated April 24, 1931 in his own hand. The ball is a lightly toned ONL Heydler model, the original owner understandably penned his info on one panel. Who wants to own a baseball that no one else has? JSA LOA (full).
