Uncle Willie Wilbert Robinson was an almost titanic figure in baseball history from about 1890 to 1930. A HOFer player in the 19th century, he was the manager of the Brooklyn Dodger teams in the 1910s and a New York Giants coach. Offered is a beautiful TLS dated 2/18/1927 on pristine Brooklyn Dodgers letterhead. A long letter to player Oscar Roettger, the content is just terrific as Robinson implores Roettger to get to training right away to show his talents and try to secure a spot on the team. Letters of this detail from a HOFer of this stature are rare and extremely desirable. Wilbert Robinson died in 1934, his autograph is extremely desirable, the offered lot is extraordinary.
