Listing Details

A fairly unique set, the square cut examples are now controversial due to the person who brought them to the hobby in 1980s. The rounded corner cards have never been questioned as far as we know. This is an interesting set that has Rookie Cards of several HOFers and many tough single-printed cards. The Jackie Robinson card is not being slabbed at this by a grading service as far we know, but that could change in the future. We submitted three key cards to SGC: and they came back as follows: Yogi Berra (RC) SGC 4, Joe DiMaggio SGC 3 and Pee Wee Reese SGC 4.5. The offered lot has 17 cards with rounded corners, the other 31 cards have square corners. The rounded corners run includes Rookie Cards of Carl Furillo and Gil Hodges, these are never easy to find and are always desirable. The square cut cards appear to be high grade, and include Joe Louis, Stan Musial and Ted Williams. Please note the current value of just the three SGC-graded cards is in the $1,500 to $2,000 range.

REVISED: WE BELIEVE THE ROBINSON, MUSIAL AND TED WILLIAMS WERE FROM THE 1982 FIND DUE TO THE COLOR OF THE BACK.
