A neat card of Babe Ruth from the 1920s, this one is nice as Ruth is in a pitching pose. The image is of a younger and more svelte Ruth, he appears to be in a Boston Red Sox uniform, but we are not certain. The offered card appears to have been hand-cut from a panel or otherwise, the bottom border does not have a normal factory cut. The card has a perfectly clear image and the back is nice. One subtle crease is present, there is wear by the lower left corner. A desirable card, an SGC 1 sold for $7,395 on 9/28/2024, the last public sale that we saw. We feel the alterations here were not designed to be deceptive, it may have been an old time collector who cut it to fit in a sheet, or again this may have been cut from a panel or partial sheet. FIne card.
