Listing Details

The ultimate name in baseball history, anything signed by Ruth has exploded in recent years. Offered is a very unusual and possible one-of-a-kind Babe Ruth photo from 1933. Ruth is seated in the dugout in full uniform, he is wrapped in a blank and looks to be feeling a chill. Ruth is posed with a player in uniform to his right and an unidentified person in formal attire to his left. Ruth signed this as follows: To CW Duncan (spelling?) From Babe Ruth Aug 12, 1933. The signature is in solid dark fountain pen ink. The placement is perfect, the writing and signature contrast nicely against the clean image. We believe this is likely a type one photo, but we cannot guarantee that. Of note, this game was played against the might Philadelphia A s, the Yanks lost the game 11-9. Ruth signed photos are such utter bargains given what 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth cards sell for even in 2s, these are probably an ideal item to put in a box for a few years and let the market sort itself out. JSA LOA (full).
