Bill McKechnie played from 1907-1920 for the Pirates, Yankees, Reds, Braves and Giants. He was a player manager for the 1915 Newark Peppers in the Federal League and managed teams from 1922- 1946, with World Championships with the 1925 Pirates and 1939 Reds. McKechnie died in 1965 and is not a rare autograph, but is almost always found exclusively on 3x5s, smaller flats and Team Signed Balls. A single signed ball is rare, these hardly ever come to market. New to the hobby, this ONL Frick model signed ball came from Cy Young museum curator Tom Aiken. Signed and extensively inscribed to Aiken, the ball has been clear-coated, the signature and writing all display well and contrast fairly well against the ball itself. This lot should be of interest to advanced HOF single signed ball collectors, people looking to get every Yankee player on a single signed ball and collectors from his other teams. Fine piece.
