A very unusual playing card set from the 1940s, this is the first time we have handled one of these. The two key cards pair Babe Ruth with Joe DiMaggio. One of these is an SGC 8, the other an SGC 7. This comes with the original box, and totals 52 cards plus two header cards and the instructions. The set covers famous Americans from this great era, with top athletes Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey, Knute Rockne, Tom Harmon and Red Grange among others. The set also includes politcians, actors, entertainers and cultural figures. Nearly everyone here has fame that survives to this day, this is a terrific little set in high grade.
