One of the key hockey sets, this is of course anchored by the Rookie Card of the legendary Bobby Orr. The rest of the set is not to be dismissed lightly, however. Filled with HOFers and stars, including two each from Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita and others. The offered set ranges from VG+ to Ex-Mt, they average a pretty solid VG-Ex to Ex overall. We rate the key cards as follows: 1 Toe Blake CO VG-Ex/Ex, 13 Terry Sawchuck VG-Ex, 23 Ed Giacomin VG-Ex, 31 Harry Sinden RC CO VG-Ex/Ex, 35 Bobby Orr RC KSA 5, 39 Johnny Bucyk KSA 6.5, 62 Stan Mikita VG-Ex/Ex, 63 Phil Esposito VG-Ex/Ex, 64 Hull VG-Ex/Ex, 66 Checklist VG w/one tiny mark, 72 Yvan Cournoyer Ex, 73 Jean Beliveau Ex, 77 Frank Mahovlich VG+, 80 Tim Horton Ex-Mt, 109 Gordie Howe Ex+, 112 Bobby Hull Ex, 120 Checklist VG-Ex mk, 121 Gordie Howe AS Ex+, 124 Stan Mikita AS Ex-Mt, 125 Bobby Hull AS VG-Ex/Ex. As for the Orr Rookie, there are no visible creases or wrinkles. The card is well centered, the back is clean. The card should grade at least a 3 by the major grading services. The card appears to be fully original, it does not appear to be trimmed or altered but we can make no promises as to what happens with another grading service. Either way, this is a very solid mid-grade example of an extremely desirable mid-grade set that has a lot going for it.
