Listing Details

A very cool ball, offered is a clean ONL Heydler model from the 1920s. One panel is signed and inscribed by St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Sherdel, he also penned a 1926 World Series inscription on another panel. Sherdel was one of the most durable and accomplished pitchers in St. Louis Cardinals history. A mainstay of the Cardinals' pitching staff throughout the 1920s and early 1930s, Sherdel won 153 games during his major league career and remains among the franchise's notable pre-war hurlers. He died in 1968, how many of these can exist? JSA LOAA.
