A very interesting oversize 19th century cabinet style issue, we have not seen or handled these until now. The cards measure 3.75 by 6.25 and offer terriic formal portraits of various United States military and political figures at the time. This was most likely produced right after or during the Spanish-American War. The exact content is as follows: George Dewey PSA 6, Robley Evans PSA 6.5, Richmond Hobson PSA 6, Fitzhugh Lee PSA 6.5, William McKinley PSA 5.5, Wesley Merritt PSA 4, Nelson Miles PSA 3, Theodore Roosevelt PSA 2, William Sampson PSA 4.5, Winfield Scott Schley PSA 4, William Shafter PSA 4, Joseph Wheeler PSA 6. We have researched these and cannot find sales for any cards not in this lot, so it is very likely a complete set. The cards tend to display extremely well for the grade, this is an extremely attractive and visually engaging issue when held in hand.
