The key figure in the 1919 Black Sox scandal, The Old Roman died in 1931 and is always a very desirable autograph. Freshly slabbed, offered is an immaculate TLS on Chicago White Sox letterhead. Dated June 12, 1927, this is written to a player named Ray Moreheart. A short note, this is to inform Moreheart that he is being released by the White Sox. Signed in Mint fountain pen ink, the signature is superb and contrasts perfectly against the clean letter. Very fine.
