Listing Details

An umpire who became the NL President, he died in 1956 and is a desirable autograph. Offered is a scarce TLS from 1922 on National League letterhead. Written to Cap Anson's daughter, the content relates to possible reimbursement for the cost of Cap Anson's funeral. Neatly signed, this is a very interesting piece. Anson was the first baseball superstar, but always controversial due to his racial views. JSA LOAA.
